North Georgia Barbershop Singers - Searching for a director

This is to announce the availability of the paid (part-time) position as director of the North Georgia Barbershop Singers. This opportunity involves leading our chorus in developing singing skills and learning new a cappella songs. We meet on Tuesday evenings at Cumming Baptist Church (115 Church Street 30040) from 7:00 pm until 9:30 pm. We perform occasionally for non-profit groups in Forsyth and adjacent counties, and produce a show each December. We compete in district contests in the fall. Our goal is to have our new director in place to begin after contest in mid-October 2019. We hope you are interested, or can forward this to someone you know who is interested in working with a great group of about 35 men who love to sing Barbershop.

If you are interested in directing us, we would like to receive your resume as soon as possible. Tell us a bit about your directing experience, knowledge of the barbershop craft, and availability for Tuesday evening rehearsals, shows, and sing-outs.

After looking at your resume, we would like you to meet our search team. A visit to Cumming, GA would be preferred, or we can do a phone interview.

Then, if we have a fit, we would have the chorus meet you, and ask you to direct us in a song or two that we are learning. We will send the music to you in advance, then schedule a week that's convenient for you to visit. We're looking forward to meeting you and working with you during the selection process.

Feel free to check out our web site: www.northgeorgiabarbershopsingers.com and the society website: https://www.barbershop.org/. Many resources are available to increase your ability to lead our chorus.

If interested, please send your inquiries to Bob Hitch at rjhitch@bellsouth.net.
